Okay, so hopefully you read the piece I wrote about the New York Jets and realized that their team is horrible this year. The Chicago Bears are not far off the pace. It literally may be a race to see who can lose the most games between the two teams to get the number one overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Must Draft Players
- Jordan Howard – Running Back
Jordan Howard would have been the best rookie running back last year if Ezekiel Elliott wasn’t also drafted. But, Howard was free from the waiver wire while Elliott cost you at least a second-round pick in all drafts. Howard had 1,313 yards rushing, 298 yards receiving on 29 receptions and 7 total touchdowns. What I struggle with is that he’s only done it one year and he’s on a terrible team. I just keep thinking Todd Gurley when I see Howard and I personally won’t be able to pull the trigger on him in the second round.
Players You Should Probably Draft
- Cameron Meredith – Wide Receiver
Cameron Meredith helped win a few weeks for his owners during the season. In weeks 3 and 4 he combined for 20 receptions for 243 yards and 1 touchdown. In weeks 15 and 16 (Semi-Finals and Finals) he had 18 receptions for 239 yards and 1 touchdown. For the remainder of the year he had 28 receptions for 406 yards and 2 touchdowns. With Alshon Jeffrey gone, he will be the number receiver, but he could remain boom or bust for your team.
Players You Could Draft If Your Rosters are Deep
- Mike Glennon/Mitch Trubisky – Quarterback
- Kevin White – Wide Receiver
The Bears paid with cash to have Mike Glennon come be their quarterback in 2017. The Bears than paid with draft picks to have Mitch Trubisky join the team in 2017. Glennon’s deal is essentially a one year deal and Trubisky has been brought in to be the future of the Bears. If you’re a gambler take a chance on one of them and see who materializes as the Bears’ starter.
Kevin White is full of possibilities. If you want to take a flyer on someone who has all the talent in the world and the build of a great wide receiver, but can’t stay healthy to save his life, be my guest!
